Julia Kent is the Chief Development Officer for the Union of Concerned Scientists. In her role, Ms. Kent oversees UCS fundraising efforts, including the organization’s work with foundations, members, and major donors. She works to build and deepen the connections with UCS’s financial supporters to keep the organization healthy and sustain its work.
Ms. Kent brings nearly 20 years of experience in nonprofit fundraising to UCS. Most recently, she served as Senior Director of Development for the One Campaign. Prior to that, she was Chief Development Officer for Urban Alliance. Ms. Kent has also worked at Water for People in Uganda, Generations for Peace in Jordan, the World Wildlife Fund in Washington, D.C., and with CARE’s development team in Atlanta. In addition, she spent four years based in Amman, Jordan, as CARE’s Middle East Regional Strategic Partnerships Director.
Ms. Kent earned a master’s degree in international development from the Josef Korbel School of International Studies at the University of Denver, and a BS in anthropology and human biology from Emory University.
