Elise Tolbert

Elise Tolbert is a Senior Energy Campaign Manager for the Climate & Energy program at the Union of Concerned Scientists. In her role, she leads the UCS Power Ahead campaign toward the goal of creating a clean, healthy and sustainable energy system that safely and equitably serves people and communities.

Prior to joining UCS, Ms. Tolbert served as Deputy Director of Partnership Engagement with the Climate Action Campaign (CAC). In that role, she worked to ground CAC campaign strategies in evidence while centering the voices, experiences, and knowledge of environmental justice organizations and communities of color. Ms. Tolbert has also worked at the Environmental Protection Agency on issues related to indoor air quality and public health preparedness, and response to climate impacts, including extreme heat events.

Ms. Tolbert holds a BS in environmental science from Tuskegee University and a masters of public health in environmental quality and health from University of Michigan.
